Small treasure on Long Beach Island, NJ: The Pearl Street Market
Jul 15 2007, 6:57 PM EDT New Outdoor Dinning in Long Beach Island! The Pearl Street Market is a small treasure of delicious sophistication. In the quiet neighborhood of southern Beach Haven, the store opened around four years ago, and it has been growing ever since. This year Edward Freeman Jr. raised it to another level by announcing outdoor dining from Thursdays through Sundays. During the day, the Pearl serves beautifully presented salads and prepared entrees, sandwiches and wraps (hot and cold) made with a wide variety of Eli Zabar breads for lunch, and it opens up with an extensive breakfast menu that features its famous “breakfast burrito”. The store has a coffee bar with all sorts of coffees, coffee drinks and healthy smoothies, and exquisite deserts – their home made lemon squares are sinful! As you wind through its colorful and neatly set up spaces, you can pick out your freshest homegrown vegetables and your perfectly ripe fruit, you can browse in the cheese case where you will find cheeses from all over the world, you will find high end pastas and sauces, canned delicacies from all over the world, Stone Kitchen items, yogurt cups, fruit cups, drinks, gourmet snacks and candy items, packaged exclusively by Dean and De Luca for Peal Street Market. The superior quality meat and cooking condiments are only surpassed by the two beautiful seafood and fresh fish counters. Two absolutely special counters devoted to the freshest fish on the island, artfully displayed every morning by store owner Eddie Freeman. It is a happening place, an elegant place, a colorful place, a small jewel on the island. 7 out of 7 found this valuable. Do you? |
