Cafe Bella Roma, S.P.Q.R (Los Angeles)
Jun 27 2007, 1:12 PM EDT This is the cutest little cafe with a big European feel and the food is A M A Z I N G. I had the Frutti di Mare (only $14.95!!!) and the flavors were perfectly infused together with the pasta. It's owned by a young couple who really made everyone at the restaurant feel like friends. The wife busses the tables and the Chef (from Rome!) comes out to greet as many people as he can. We loved this place because we felt it's as authentic as it gets and the prices are unbeatable. The menu is huge and the desserts are decadent! Even though we were happily full, we had to try their Tiramisu (which is apparently made fresh every morning). I thought I died and went to heaven. Jun 27 2007, 1:24 PM EDT hey we just ate there the other night too and it was fantastic. my wife and i loved the neighborhood feel and yet we seem to be transported to italy. i had the penne arabiatta and my wife had the whitefish special which was cooked perfectly. the only thing is that they are still working on their wine license so you have to BYO but for only $4 cork fee you cant go wrong. we saw the tiramisu but didn't try it...we opted for the grandmother's cake which my wife swore was like crack...we inahled every bite. great place & good vibe. 4 out of 8 found this valuable. Apr 12 2008, 4:01 PM EDT I read the reviews and gave Cafe Bella a try. It's not so 'bella' !!! The pasta was over-cooked and tasteless. The fish was over-priced and not fresh. Management was not concerned and thus the very negative review. The neighborhood around Robertson Blvd has so many choices so do yourselves a favor and look elsewhere. 4 out of 5 found this valuable.
