Durham...the Diner's Delight
May 29 2007, 9:44 AM EDT The succulent, savory taske of Bullock's Bar-B-Que is enough that travelers to and through Durham plan their trip around its hours of operation (Tu-Sa, 11am-8pm). The green beans and hush puppies are unrivaled anywhere. Foster's Market, near the city's epicurean-friendly Rockwood District, makes tasty wraps, salads, and desserts. Their chocolate chess pie is a treat one can't resist. The two above restaurants are just two of the 30 that have received national recognition. However, there are many more one-of-a-kind places to dine in Durham. Experience the tour platter at Pomodorro's Italian Restaurant (Hillandale Road at I-85), the blue cheese burger at the venerable Honey's Country Restaurant (Guess Road and I-85--they'll make it either Duke or Carolina blue!) , the home cooking at Home Plate Restaurant (Wake Forest Highway), the delicious seafood at Shrimp Boats (Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd), the health-conscious Mongolia Grill at Grand China (Roxboro Rd, Oxford Commons Shoping Center), and the delectable desserts at Tyler's Tap Room (American Tobacco District, Downtown). Durham literally offers a world of different food for a world of different people. 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |
